I'd prefer not to compare the two as I love open source (and less-than-love crypto), but it *is* true many OSS projects never focused on a clean UX/DX, which clouds have cleaned up. Rather than rage at clouds for "taking and not giving," recognize their UX as a significant "give"

In a lot of ways crypto is open source 2.0, and a big part of that Is the adamant belief that your complex and impossible-to use system does not need to be simplified and abstracted- instead consumers will all learn how to change the spark plugs….
