Popular opinion: when I worked in Denmark, we didn’t get a limited amount of sick days bc as they told me, “you don’t know when you’re going to be sick.” Give people freedom and respect and they will have better mental health. Don’t limit sick days at all.

Unpopular opinion: sick days are for when you’re sick, not preventative “mental health” days. Skipping work has a sharply negative impact on your students and colleagues.
