I spent part of my evening working on my website's "speaking" page. I reviewed the archive and found nice things people said about those talks and photos, and it made me quite teary. I was so harsh on myself then, but now I look back to the person I was in 2018 and 2019... I was just a baby. How hopeful I was in those talks. Oh my...

The fundamental problem with how Spez & Elon Musk are running Reddit and Twitter is that they assume people have no choice but to keep posting and reading their sites. This is such a stark contrast from Meta which is eternally paranoid about users growing tired and leaving its apps.

The one evening I have the energy to do programming stuff outside of work, is OBVIOUSLY the same evening that GitHub decides to throw a huge wobbly. On the bright side, my blog is now deployed from GitHub Actions rather than manually synced to AWS S3, so maybe I'll be more motivated to write again!
