Urgh! Yet another thing that #MacOS can't do which is standard on #Linux. I have my monitor connected to my MacBook using HDMI. Sound comes out of my monitor. It is *impossible* to control the volume of the Mac once it is connected. Laptop volume buttons just show the 🚫 symbol when pressed. It's a work Mac, so I can't install any software on it to change this behaviour. But, frankly, why should I have to? Every other laptop works fine with an external speaker. Why are Macs so crap?

Just saw an ambulance filling up at the petrol station. Went up and asked what chocolate they liked... a surprised look and "Galaxy"... Bought a couple of bars of galaxy chocolate for them and they were very grateful. Massive smiles. It's a small thing but seemed to mean a lot
