A question for #infosec practitioners. I've found an abandoned AWS bucket from a very large company. It serves all the images & fonts in their billing emails. I defensively registered it to prevent an attacker from injecting malicious content into the emails I receive. Then I emailed their security.txt contact to inform them and offering to transfer it back (for free, obviously). Was that the right thing to do? Should I have waited for a response from them before securing the bucket?

I took Taco to the vet today. They made it clear that his pain issues are now chronic. I tucked that thought away for most of the day, but it came back to me as I took him on his late walk just now. He’s getting old and I don’t know how I’m going to be able to handle that.

Now that I no longer work there, I will say that something I really disliked about Google (and this may just be a Big Tech thing and not unique to them) is how much of the job was self promoting and the theatrics of demonstrating impact.
