i gotta love how i hear "we're building a sustainable engineering culture" from places that quadrupled their engineering teams to demonstrate growth to investors, then fire an arbitrary number of them, also at the behest of investors

Combining "layoffs" with "return to office" in rapid succession makes it very clear that neither is about stated reasons, and both are about punching down at the workers.

It turns out that a lot of what women want is an interesting and/or funny person to talk to
