I think naming projects prefixed with your programming language of choice is silly. I would never name my project... oh wait.

I think if people understood just how much one can suffer without dying they would be more careful with the things that dont necessarily lead to death.

Our sidekiq workers had a bit of trouble and weren’t processing jobs which resulted in no posts from other instances being processed for a couple of days. The realisation of “oh, I guess that would be one of us that needs to fix that” was fun 😅 Gone are the days of just hoping an engineer in the SRE team at Big Social Media Company will wake up and fix it. #MastoAdmin
Want to come to apidays Paris next week for free? I set up an API for that! Use Postman or curl to send a GET request to bitDOTly/apidaysparis2022code to get a code for a free ticket (replace DOT by a dot 😅). #apiAPI Handyman (@apihandyman)Thu, 08 Dec 2022 15:22 GMT
It baffles me a bit that companies are still using "unforeseen circumstances" as a reason for layoffs or hiring freezes. After a year of watching other companies do the same, at what point is it no longer considered "unforeseen"?

This is actually viral. I have never worked for GDS but use a lot of GDS-developed stuff in my work and I also bristle when people criticise it but also bristle when people are too complimentary about GDS - probably for completely different reasons to anyone who has worked there
Luke Waterfield (@lukewaterfield)Thu, 08 Dec 2022 13:21 GMT
Being an ex-GDSer is weird because you bristle when anyone criticises GDS and you bristle when anyone is too complimentary about GDS. If you ever leave GDS, prepare for a lifetime of bristling.Amy Hupe (@Amy_Hupe)Thu, 08 Dec 2022 08:14 GMT

Hi @RaspberryPi_org, mocking a marginalised person, then blocking them, for giving honest criticism about you celebrating your employees for using Raspberry Pis for surveillance policing is unprofessional and gross.Post details

No technology demo has so misled companies to waste time and money like self driving cars. Billions spent by some of the smartest technology companies in the world only to realize at best all we’re going to get is slightly better cruise control.Post details

Rail strikes mean rail workers won't be able to buy their kids presents as they fight for a decent payrise to offset the cost of living crisis. That should be your headlineBradley Wall 🏳️🌈 🇪🇺🇬🇧🌍 (@BWallArthur)Thu, 08 Dec 2022 08:03 GMT

This headline and article is totally misleading. Only Network Rail staff are taking action from 6pm on 24 to 6am on the 27. @RMTunion is targeting engineering works, not passenger services. Passengers will be able to travel either side of the strike on those same days. twitter.com/bbcnews/status…Post details
