It’s always worth reminding Musk’s fan boys that these are the brilliant men who founded Tesla. Elon was just a series-A investor who bought in, then sabotaged the company enough until these men were pushed out, then he spent the next ten years telling everyone he founded Tesla.

T minus 10 hours to Heroku d-day. • Deleted 42 apps that were broken or doing nothing. • Captured three Ruby apps as static HTML and moved to GitHub Pages. • Two dynamic apps went to Google Cloud Run and one hobby Bridge instance with multiple DBs. Later Heroku — it was fun.Brandur (@brandur)Sun, 27 Nov 2022 21:44 GMT

My kids have just discovered that the family sick bowl and the cake mix bowl are one and the same. In my defence, this was also the case when I was growing up … but now I’ve said it out loud, I realise I need to break the cycle. I won’t be taking any further questions.

It's also wild that he can say that and then say "But not Alex Jones, what he did was inexcusable." It's just so clear that all he really wants is a place where he is in charge.

Every time people like EM bring up how they want to create an "ultimate unlimited free-speech zone" they seem to forget that plenty of sites with that setup already exist (parler, gab, truth social), it's just that normal people don't want to hang out on them 'cause they're awful

To throw one more fallacy on the bonfire: CI is not the practice of running a building test server. It is the behavior of developers sharing all their code changes frequently, at LEAST once a day.

Jack Dorsey was the best CEO twitter ever had or will have. for years, he was pestered daily to add a button that would allow op ed writers to see where trolls lived and he’d just go “I am currently at a commune where we’re eating smegma :)” he didn’t fold. Elon isn’t like that
