I've given my website a new coat of paint. Or, more specifically, five new coats of paint. I couldn't decide which new theme I liked most, so I built all of them. They get a bit weird. localghost.devSophie Koonin (@type__error)Sat, 11 Jun 2022 16:58 +0000

This week we’re bringing JS Party to The Changelog — Mitch and Andrew from the 1Password team talk with Amal and Nick about the company’s transition to Electron and web technologies, and how the company utilized its existing web stack to shape the future of its desktop experience.
This week Gerhard is talking with Arnaud Porterie, founder of EchoesHQ, a new utility that measures and communicates engineering activity. They start by re-creating the 60 seconds Y Combinator pitch, and then shift focus to what it was like to get EchoesHQ off the ground. Next, they tackle something which is always on ...
In case you were wondering how Pride Month is going, the @smh got in touch with Rebel Wilson to say they’d be outing her in the next few days, so when Rebel came out herself the journalists are throwing a tantrum that she robbed them of an exclusive.Dr. Bodie A. "trump's sophisticated seven-part plan." oh sure, let's bet the future of an entire party on a historically unpopular ruling class's ability to persuade everyone that the same guy who can't maintain his focus through even seven sentences was secretly a mastermind. this is wise.Edward Snowden (@Snowden)Sat, 11 Jun 2022 14:03 +0000

Men absolutely do this. Especially those who have never had healthy loving nurturing relationships with their mom. They mommy-zone you then they take their resentment out on you. They completely take advantage of you. It’s very one-sided and frankly boring.

The worst is when they mommy zone you but still think you should have sex

I can't speak for all women but I think most of us want a reciprocal relationship. if we split the bills, we split the chores. if one person does more chores, the other might contribute more financially or contributes in other ways. but not a relationship where finances are 1/2

Women may friend-zone men but men mommy-zone women and that’s worse imo

I am overjoyed to announce that the 2nd edition of my book Code: The Hidden Language of Computer Hardware and Software will be published by Pearson on August 19, 2022. As you can see, the covers of the two editions are nearly identical except that the 2nd edition uses the “dark mode” option:

Sophie here passes women in the street, *assumes* they’re single mothers, *and* on benefits (gosh how awful of her??), & thinks that her child should therefore only have old clothes, & an old pushchair? This is just pure misogyny.

Here's the thing about the #indieweb. Once you have a domain or site, you're there. From that point, you can enable whichever other building blocks you like. Or not. But just because you're not using certain building blocks doesn't mean it's not indieweb.Amanda J. caarson (@cswordpress)Fri, 10 Jun 2022 14:00 +0000
