$10,000 is a lot of money, right? If you made $10,000 every day since 1776, you still wouldn't have $1 billion today. Stop defending modern day robber barons.Fifty Shades of Whey (@davenewworld_2)Wed, 12 Jan 2022 07:58 GMT

Look I'm not a fan of Capitalism, but it seems that there's a pretty simple patch that would help right now: Hire more people to do less work each, but for more money. Flatten salaries.

tech as a field is so morally bankrupt that when someone respected gets a job at a shitty company, the best defense we offer is "well every other tech company is evil too". how we can be this depressed & nihilistic while still having so much support for capitalism is beyond me.

Stop asking children what they want to “do” when they grow up. By doing so, you center their existence around labor and capital. Labor is not a dream. Ask them what makes them happy. Ask them in what ways do they imagine themselves being happy in the future. Then hush and listen.

Someone paid $650,000 for a virtual mega-yacht. I repeat: the yacht does not exist beyond a virtual world called “The Sandbox.” Every time I see a story like this I not only think we need to rein this in, but also that taxing the rich isn’t enough; we need expropriation.Paris Marx (@parismarx)Mon, 29 Nov 2021 02:10 GMT
