TOP TIP: I turned on a filter in settings that mutes all tweets from accounts which haven’t confirmed their e-mail & mobile number. Amazingly it has instantly wiped all racism from my feed, coz surprisingly people who express those kind of views don’t like being identified.

TIL that Twitter doesn’t store tweets in one place, for read efficiency it stores one copy of the tweet in each follower’s timeline. Except for celebrities with lots of followers. I suspect this is the real reason we still don’t have an edit button.

Having seen some vile comments on otherwise sensible threads, I'm rather pleased with this ability to limit replies. I don't see it as much different to moderating comments on your blog. Yes, Twitter is a walled garden, but that doesn't mean you can't prune the weeds.
