Heading home from Dave and Faye's on Monday, a day off on Tuesday, and then a three-day week leading onto a Bank Holiday weekend:
- Had a fairly good journey back, albeit we had a lot of traffic towards the latter end of the journey, but gave us a chance to swap drivers
- Had a nice lunch at the 68 Cafe, with some very nice cakes to takeaway π
- Before we left we gave the dogs a good walk, and Anna found Jasper's ball in the field we'd lost the day before ππΌ
- Had a very nice meowy welcome from Morph - a little more than normal as it turns out he'd run out of food while we were away π«£
- Lidl's had Rocky Road, which isn't as good as the 68 Cafe Rocky Road, but it's pretty good
- Had a few nights where I've had music stuck in my head overnight, which has been a bit annoying, especially as it's not the usual music I've been listening to π€ I.e. one night it was a Kings of Leon
- My GopherCon writeup has appeared in the Golang Weekly and Applied Go newsletters
- Morph's had a number of dreamies this week, literally racing into the living room, no worries about Cookie being there, as he loves them so much π₯°
- Pizza tonight - as I was too busy to go on Friday during the day, and CBA to leave the house yesterday - which was nice, but they didn't have all the things, and Amazon Prime was being a pain so didn't end up watching The Fall Guy
- Recently I've been noticing a number of hits on
robots.txt
(which doesn't exist right now) - Doing perf reviews this week, getting some good feedback from Fadi, and reflecting on some of the great things I've done this last 6 months, but as ever, struggling to put the words together for it so it fits within the perf review process
- Not a fan of being on ad-supported Amazon Prime π
- Tried Toblerone's version of Gu, which were OK? Very sweet, and not at all Toblerone-y
- Had a good chat with Alec around DMD, Renovate, OpenAPI, BDD and EngProd at large
- Had a good chat with Anders about a guest post for the OPA blog
- Been very annoying getting many reminders from Amazon about one of our Hue dimmer switches being low on battery, having the Alexa and both our emails being told multiple times a day that it's low - not happened quite this badly in the past
- Cookie found a chicken wing in the garden - presumably thrown over the fence by a twat, or brought in by some wildlife - and thankfully we managed to get it off her before she could eat too much (or hurt herself). She then went out again - under supervision - and was very excitedly returning to the scene of the crime, and while looking around I got absolutely covered in grass seeds, even moreso than Cookie has been in the past
- Gousto arrived very late on Wednesday, so we needed to source dinner ourselves. It was a good opportunity to get an Iskender from Rakki Rakkas πππ
- Lots of Gousto meant a lot of cooking, and more than we'd planned this weekend
- Did some cleanup of my TODO list (only ~280 outstanding things on my Google Tasks (
:deep_fried_laughing_crying:
) left) - Feeling like we're starting to come down with something (not COVID, at least right now) that we may have picked up from the kids
- Got the little water tap fitted, and about two hours later had it taken out as the tap we'd ordered was broken π So now need to get it replaced by the manufacturer π€πΌ
In dependency-management-data and renovate-graph:
- Worked out why
renovate-graph
's following of configuration wasn't working, and it turns out it was an implementation error (at work) - A few tweaks to
renovate-graph
, most importantly making lockfile parsing opt-in - To simplify the release process, I started looking at
semantic-release
, but am super disappointed that you can't release a 0.x release - Added the storing of
supported_until
andeol_from
for DMD Policies, given it came up at work as something we'd want to use
Played:
- Apex Legends
- Enjoying Straight Shot, my first time able to play it as I missed the first time it was on
- Ratchet: Gladiator
Watched:
- (no) New Amsterdam
- Saturday Night Live (on YouTube)
- The Great British Sewing Bee
- His Dark Materials
- Death and Other Details
- An excellent recommendation from Dave and Faye, and very very recommended from us too! Really great whodunnit, very well shot, great story, and I love that none of the cast were particularly known (to us? Aside from Mandy Patinkin, I guess?) so it felt like a load of normal people rather than "oh that's so-and-so from that thing we watched"
- Rings of Power
