- A busy week at work
- An interesting OpenUK meetup this week around whether Open Source can be a business
- Announced our next OpenUK meetup, all about the IndieWeb π
- Very frustrating losing all my desktop (+ work) tabs - but managed to work out why
- Created my /slashes page
- Cat Snack Bar's new "merge" game has been fun, but I'm finding I'm already rather tired of it ( / the stress of decisions)
- Enjoyed reading some great Expanse threads this week (i.e. (spoilers!)) and definitely thinking I need to start making some time for myself to start re-reading
- I've been enjoying being a little bit more intentional with my "scrolling" time, and instead focussing on digging into non-tech reddit threads
- After the sneak peek pre-announcement, I thought I'd try the McRib this weekend - was good, but not quite as good as it's been hyped up to being?
- Had an excellent Asda pizza π especially good after not having one for a few weeks due to Goose Fair, and then me being away last weekend
- Had a nice chilled day today, and a roast at The Larch Farm - unfortunately we didn't quite arrive at the right time and got not-the-most-amazing roast, but still nice. Was a little disappointed in my choice for the cookie dough cheesecake, and wish I'd had the peanut butter stack that Anna went for π
- My Casetify case has started warping and coming apart
- We got them in week 1 this year, so it's not lasted quite as long as I'd have hoped
- I've re-ordered the same one, as I quite like it, and it saves me having to make a decision π«£
- On a walk yesterday evening, slipped on a particularly mulchy patch of leaves - and luckily was mostly unscathed - but got a couple of awkward scrapes (and my clothes needed to go in the wash)
- Made my first trip to Rakki Rakkas solo, and fortunately the car park wasn't too bad, and now I've set a precedent for our collections π«£
- While coming over for a cuddle earlier, Cookie stepped on one of her toys and it squeaked, and as she cuddled us she kept looking over as if it was going to squeak randomly, which was very cute, but she did look a little worried
- Morph has started sitting on a dining room chair - under the table - which is cute that we've been able to have him kinda involved with us, alongside also having him in the living room a few times this week
- Super hating the fact that Amazon Prime has ads, making it very painful to watch Two Broke Girls and Pitch Perfect
- (And when we get back to Rings of Power)
- Feeling a little under the weather today, but a Covid test the other day showed it's not that at least
- Came into the living room one day, and Morph was cuddled up on the sofa, very happily π₯°
Played:
- Apex Legends (as usual)
- But very much enjoying Trick or Treat Trios
- Ratchet and Clank: A Crack In Time
- Took a whole episode of The US Office to finish the grind rail on Torren IV as it was super painful (related)
- Finding the "fixing time" minigames quite difficult too
- But enjoying the game overall!
In dependency-management-data:
- After my talk at OggCamp last weekend, I've had a lot of folks trying it out this week, at least looking at the traffic I've seen to the DMD site
- Released
renovate-graph
's Renovate v38 support- Per a user request - also great to hear about other users of the tool ππΌ
- At work, managed to - finally - solve an issue that's been plaguing us on-and-off with one of our largest repos not being able to scan
- Due to it being related to
Retry-After
, I'd thought it may be related to an issue that was mentioned as related to a Docker Hub fix that is only present in v38 of Renovate, but it wasn't - But it turns out it was due to the Google Cloud Run network connectivity being a bit slow, and bumping the NPM registry
timeout
solved it π - But as a side benefit we're now at least on Renovate v38 too π
- Due to it being related to
- Started work on
renovate-diff
, a CLI to make it easier to see at-a-glance what's different between different Renovate package dumps- More info on the use-case
- Hoping to have it finished before a hackathon week at work in December
Watched:
- Only Murders in the Building
- The US Office
- And we finished π Such a good ending, and leaving a bit of a hole in our lives
- Bridgerton
- Peep Show
- Thinking it may be a good next programme, but not a good replacement for The US Office
- Two Broke Girls
- We're finding this is a good next chill-and-mostly-feel-good programme
- Pitch Perfect
- After the Acapella bits towards the end of The US Office, a natural follow-on
- What If?
