Week Notes 24#46

• A busy week of on-call (and some high priority work to support on Thursday)
• With Changelog doing a merch sale, I ended up getting some new swag, especially as the Maintainer, Maintainer, Maintainer
• Ended up missing an incident page (that was fortunately autoresolved) as my do-not-disturb setup on Android/PagerDuty wasn't correctly set up 😬
• A lovely chilled 3 day weekend, with my penultimate Shut It Down Day
  • We went to Eden Hall for the day - and Cookie had a day at daycare - and we had a really relaxed day, I didn't touch my phone between arriving and leaving (as a self imposed detox, that I didn't even need to think about, but was just nice to do) and very restorative
  • Had a good morning, a nice massage + facial, a good nap in the nap room, then our 3 course lunch 😋 the heated outdoor pool was a little chillier than I'd been led to believe, but was a nice day, and finished off with a solo pickup from Rakki Rakkas 😋
  • With a restorative Friday, managed to do some house/life admin over the weekend, including getting the garage shuffled around so we can get a tumble dryer
• The Chainsmokers' So Far So Good (lofi remixes) album coming on shuffle has yet again reminded me of how great an album it is
• Found our spare key (thankfully it was where we thought we'd left it)
• The TV lost its audio the other day and it was rather worrying, and didn't seem to fix itself until a second reboot 🤔
• After a somewhat weird dream, I spent some time looking at Millionaire's Shortbread recipes 👀
• Had a good catch-up with Keith
• Was interesting playing with Honeycomb as part of the OTel work on DMD
• My PC's not been resuming from suspend very well recently - and today I came upstairs and the fans were at maximum, but couldn't be interacted with, even over SSH 🤔
• Had some more Morph in the living room which has been nice 😻
  • But he's also being an idiot and keeps trying to claw the curtains, inevitably getting his claws stuck, and needing a hand getting unstuck, the commotion of which makes Cookie start barking, making Morph more worried, and generally not helping at all 🙃
• Had a nice walk at Colwick Park with Carol, having Wired breakfast and a catchup while we walked around
• Had a good pizza from Asda - unfortunately wasn't either of our "usual" pizzas but was nice
• Telegram notifications are still coming through intermittently, especially unhelpful when we need to get in touch with each other
• Joe (my new manager) joined this week 🎉 I've not yet finished off the last changes on my Manual of Me, but did some bits ahead of our first catch up
• Shadowed my first interview (at Elastic) and the first time I've been involved in since ~January 2018 😱

In dependency-management-data:

• Set up an automated CHANGELOG.md updates (via go-semantic-release), which also ships to the website
• No progress towards renovate-packagedata-diff
• As the primary focus this week is on adding OpenTelemetry support
  • Including a blog post
    • So far had some views via LinkedIn and Reddit and hopefully it's interesting 🤞🏼
  • Got some good insights + refactorings
  • It's actually been so interesting, I've not ended up gaming as much because I've so actively been working on it
  • Need to finish off the MR, but as I've still got some docs improvements to make, I don't want to push it live without more reviews, as I do value documentation

• We're on the last few episodes - look like we'll finish this coming week
• The Lincoln Lawyer
  • We'd missed that season 3 was out!
