Week Notes 24#52

• Before Anna's family left on Monday, we did a big fry-up to keep people going, which was nice
• Went to pick up Morph from his holiday at the cattery and as we were going through Hyson Green, thought we'd pick up a pizza
• Morph was very meowy when we arrived at the cattery, and was then extra meowy when he got home 😻
• On Christmas Eve morning, we took Cookie for a lil' walk and grabbed some last bits from Lidl before the shops busied up and picked up some extra salmon - for our leftover bagels and cream cheese - but accidentally picked up a thing of trout 🫣
  • Turns out, it is very similar to salmon (and was confusingly right next to the salmon) and thankfully not a big difference
• Cookie was super sleepy post-family visit 🥰
• Did some cleanup on my talks site, as well as tweaking my /previously page to display a timeline view
  • Could do with some feedback on improving it!
• Fixed my Mend Renovate Community Edition instance on Fly, and did a lil' release to DMD
• Had a lovely Christmas day with Anna
  • Kicking off the day with bucksfizz, leftover pizza and tea 😋
  • But did get hit by one of the family's cold 🤒 Not too much of an impact, but it's still lingering
  • A nice afternoon doing Lego and listening to Off Menu - I managed to do my Tranquil Garden and was the first time I used a lighting kit
• We've also started a jigsaw puzzle and are making good progress
• Backfilled my announcement about winning the October Engineering Monthly Award at Elastic, which naturally resulted in it landing in my feed (as a newly updated post) and cross-posted to LinkedIn, but got some good recognition which was nice
• Did a release of openapi-sorbet, with a user contribution!
• Did some cleanup on my TODO list that's accumulated over the last couple of weeks
• Found some wrong filename slugs / URLs on my site and did some cleanup
  • Which did also pop them into the feeds, so had some visits
• The DMD Zulip has had a bit more work, and did a small release of DMD (for an oapi-codegen bump)
• Had a nice walk to Gravely Hollow on Boxing Day
• A nice weekend with the family
  • Had a good chilled time
  • Nice to catch-up with Cat and Bernard and Darcie
  • Nice to see the cousins
  • The M&S Chocolate & Hazelnut Buche (yule log) is 😋😋😋
  • Cookie was on the whole good, but a few outbursts, and overwhelm from people (hard relate)
  • Was nice to have a lie-in this morning, felt very sleepy
  • Drove both ways, but on the way there was a lot of fog, which was my first time
• Got some lovely presents 🥰 And my presents to people seemed to go well
• Set up Ghosty for my DMD querying
• This week we've had a lot of leftovers, and managed to finish almost all of our Christmas meal from last Sunday
• Had Rakki Rakkas tonight 😋
• Can't believe it's already the end of the year, and looking forward to having my music/site in review posts by next week - one of the fun things about the end-of-year
• Did some Wiki'ing for Star Trek Armada trivia
• "The domain" I'm buying still hasn't completed - naturally Xmas delays, but think the buyer may have tried to cancel the transfer 😠
• Found that Stashpad has shut down - after looking to resume usage of it - and found that I can't even "log in" to restore the pre-saved notes I have on my device
  • And spent some time digging hard into whether I could use adb to restore them, but unfortunately not without being rooted
