Week Notes 25#13

  • Confirmed that I'll be speaking at Golang Birmingham which has restarted πŸ‘πŸΌ
  • Enjoyed attending Developers Developers Developers
    • Some very good demos - in particular Lu Wilson's incredibly enthralling and chaotic (positive)
    • Nice to meet some new folks
    • On the way, made a start writing a "things I've learned working in Engineering Productivity" blog post, which is almost done
  • Really should be making a start on "important design decisions when building APIs", given we've got an episode of Fallthrough coming out tomorrow, but not sure I'll be able to
  • Lots of listening to The Severance Podcast, which has been interesting hearing about the "making of" and some interesting tidbits about the episodes, as well as getting to relive some of the episodes
  • Realised that my keyboard cable not working intermittently (being super frustrating, especially when gaming) is down to the cable maybe dying, and so I've managed to replace it with the default WASD Keyboard cable, and that seems to be better now
  • Some interesting new trailers this week:
    • The Naked Gun reboot
    • Tron: Ares - could be interesting, or could be a disappointing sequel-to-the-sequel
  • Cookie's been a bit out of sorts, possibly anxious, but has been spending a lot of time under our desks (mostly under mine, which is again very out-of-sorts), and even jumped up on my lap while I was in my office chair (also surprising given she's scared of moving chairs) and spent my 1-1 with Ellie with Cookie being super cuddly cute πŸ₯°
  • Been nice weather this week so we've been having nice chicken salad lunches in the conservatory
  • A nice weekend in London and was lovely meeting my new nephew πŸ₯°
  • Two orders from Boo - one that again didn't send the extra chicken breast I ordered, and then one that did, but sent the wrong drink πŸ˜…
  • Very much been enjoying Apex Legends' April Fools mode, and I'm getting surprisingly good at the Mozamblam (Kraber Mozambique merger)
  • Started looking into fixing dependency-management-data's example project's failed build, and noticed that renovate-graph may not be working now we're using patch-package πŸ€”
  • Looking forward to my oapi-codegen time tomorrow at work (for Jan/Feb)

Watched:

  • Brooklyn 99
    • After Pimememento, definitely want to reawtch Memento
  • Andor
